I always carry scented candles with me when I travel. I learned a lesson a few years back. I checked into a hotel, and the only rom that was available was a smoking room. The room was nice and clean, but the stale smell of cigarette smoke was overpowering. I am not a smoker, and I prefer to sit in the non-smoking section of restaurants and stay in the non-smoking rooms in hotel rooms, as I do not like the smell of cigarette smoke. From that point on, I carried candles iwth me when I traveled. If a hotel is booked to capacity, and only smoking rooms are available, I can light a candle and no longer have to smell the cigarette smoke that is lingering in the air.
